Episode 2 part 2

“Sajangnim, I’m done.” Sun Jung came toward the counter, she bowed a bit and placed the camera she was carrying.

The old man behind the counter quickly stood up from his seat and checked the camera. Sun Jung eyed the man as she idly folded her arms on the counter. She watched him placing the camera in to the cabinet before going back to her.

“Come, let’s talk in my room.” He said as he left the counter.

Sun Jung just nodded then hesitantly looked back to the other staff behind. They nodded as well and mouthed ‘fighting’ to her. She flashed a smile before going off.

———————————————————————————————————

“So, you sure about your desicion?”

Sun Jung nodded politely. “Yes, sajangnim.”

The man looked at her for seconds before letting out heavy sigh, “Well, Sun Jung-ah. You’re one of our great photographers. I trust almost all the works to you these years. So, hearing you’ll be leaving us is a shocking news to me.” He was being honest to her.

“I’m very sorry, sajangnim. Honestly, I also never expected this.”

The manager looked at her in concern. “Care to share it with me?” He asked.

“I…” she paused, not sure what to tell. “I have to meet my family in Seoul.”

“Family in Seoul?”

“Yes..”

“Ah..” he nodded with his brows creasing. “…I didn’t know you have family in Seoul.”

Sun Jung sighed, still hanging her head. “It’s… really a long story to tell, sajangnim.”

“Oh, okay. I’m sorry I’ll stop.” The manager chuckled softly, knowing he was going to far. “By the way, Sun Jung-ah, before you leave…” he trailed off as he was busy unlocking his drawer.

Sun Jung frowned as she watched him placing a box on the desk. She looked at him curiously. “Sajangnim, what is this?”

He smiled gently at her. “It’s a gift for you. Open it.”

“A gift…?” she frowned once again as she began opening the box.

Her confused face suddenly turned out to be the shocked one. Sun Jung immadiately covered her mouth with both hands, speechless when seeing a brand new DSLR Camera sitting sweetly inside it.

“No way!” she exclaimed as she couldn’t surpress her wide smile. She looked back at her manager. “Sajangnim, are you playing prank with me?! Is this real?! No no this couldn’t be real!” the girl couldn’t hide her excitment as she blurted out.

The manager laughed hard. “Should I slap you on the face then?”

Sun Jung looked at him once again, he was smiling at her. Sincerely. He was one of those sincere people she ever met in her life. And in matter of time, she would also leave this person. Could she find a person like him in there? Sun Jung wasn’t sure.

“Sajangnim…” Just thinking about that already made her tear up. She ran to him and hugged him tightly. He was a manager, a teacher, and also a father to her. He had taught her about many things besides photography.

“Thank you very much.”

“I hope it would be useful for you. Forgive me, I can’t send you off tomorrow.”

“It’s okay. Thank you for all this time, sajangnim.”

The manager couldn’t hide his tears just when Sun Jung started sobbing on his shoulder. He smiled as he patted her head. Tomorrow and the day after that, he would no longer to see this girl. Also would no longer to hear her witty jokes and pranks around the office. He, definitely would miss this girl.

“Take care, my daughter.”

‘God Bless You, Sun Jung-ah’

————————————————————————————–

Hyun Joo went out from the kitchen with a pot of hot mushroom porridge. She carefully placed it on the dinning table then looked around the table. Yep, dinner was ready.

“Sun Jung-ah, dinner is ready!”

“A moment, eemo!”

Came Sun Jung’s voice from another room. Hyun Joo sighed as she walked out to find her.

“What are—”

She stopped as she spotted her niece was praying solemnly in front of two photographs. They were photographs of her late mother and uncle. Hyun Joo just stood there, watching her from behind with a smile. Sun Jung often did this routine, especially when she would do something important.

Hyun Joo knew how the girl loved her family so much, especially her mom, Han Jin Ae. Sun Jung had no father, cousin even grandparents like the others. In fact, she never knew about her whole family. Yes, she already asked about them countlessly. But Hyun Joo always kept her mouth shut. She kept thinking it wasn’t the right time to tell her.

So many things happened even after Sun Jung was born. Hyun Joo just didn’t want to stuff the girl anymore with stories of the past.

Letting Sun Jung to finish her routine, Hyun Joo walked back to the dinning room and sat there. Her thought suddenly flew somewhere. Bringing her to another time, another memories.

————————————————————————————-

Today was the funeral day of Han Jin Ae, everyone was in grief. They lost a friend, a sister, and a mother. Hwang Jung So was walking around, checking the entire house. The guests already left. Only some close friends were still there.

He stopped when he saw Hyun Joo was still sitting in front of Jin Ae photograph. The woman was staring longingly at it. Jung So carefully took a seat beside her. He looked at her and saw despair in her tired eyes. He knew how hard it took for the sisters to survive together until now.

“Hyun Joo-ah…”

“Why not me?” she hissed.

Jung So sighed. “Hyun Joo-ah, would you stop this?”

Hyun Joo shook her head. “This is wrong.. Jin Ae has Sun Jung… she shouldn’t leave her.”

“Sshh…” Jung So embraced her as she rested her head on his shoulder. “I told you, Sun Jung still has you and me. I’m her uncle, remember that. So count me in.”

Hyun Joo smiled faintly, she wept her tears away as she got up from his shoulder. “Where is she? I should meet her.”

Jung So tilted his head toward the door. “She is outside.”

—————————————————————————————

Today was cloudy, it was cold enough outside. Hyun Joo embraced herself as she walked off the yard. Her eyes couldn’t leave a girl who was sitting on a bench under the shallow tree. Hyun Joo carefully took a seat beside her then embraced her, comforting the little girl. She closed her eyes, didn’t know what to say anymore. They just stayed like that until finally Sun Jung broke the silence.

“Eemo..” came out her faint voice.

“Hmm?”

Sun Jung snuggled closer to her as she tightened her embrace. “I’m scared…”

Hyun Joo remained silent, the cracked voice was another painful hit for her.

The little girl couldn’t help it anymore. She broke in to tears again. “Please don’t leave me alone…”

Hearing her plea, Hyun Joo couldn’t resist her tears anymore. She stroked her hair gently. The little girl was trembling in fright under her arms. Hyun Joo could feel her fear of being alone. From now on, Sun Jung only had her auntie and uncle to hold on.

“Ssh it’s okay.. Eemo won’t leave, sweety… eemo will be always here… by your side.”

The little girl looked up. Hope lit her sorrow eyes. “Promise?”

Hyun Joo nodded as she gently wiped the tears on Sun Jung’s face. She smiled. “I promise…”

Just in time, someone appeared from behind and gave them a tight back hug, stratling the two. “I also won’t leave both of youuuuu!”

“Yah, Hwang Jung So! You scared us!” Hyun Joo snapped.

“Oops, heee sorry dear…” Jung So pleaded with a goof grin.

Sun Jung looked up at the couple. A grin slowly spread on her face, followed by faint chuckle. Hyun Joo and Jung So turned to the little girl then chuckled as well. They embraced each other tightly, writing a promise in mind to never leave each other’s side.

—————————————————————————————

“Eemo?”

Hyun Joo blinked and turned around to see Sun Jung coming toward her.

“Sorry, I took too long for praying. Are you okay?” Sun Jung sat beside her and put a hand on her forehead. “You seems not well from yesterday. Is something…” she trailed off as she noticed something. Her fingers carefully wiped a tear that left on Hyun Joo’s face.

“Eemo, you are crying…”

“Ah, really? I didn’t realize it…” Hyun Joo let out bitter chuckle as more tears coming out. It’s hard to hold it back anymore. She hugged her niece and stroked her head.

“Eemo.. what’s wrong?”

“Nothing…” Hyun Joo heaved deep breath.“I was just wondering why time went so fast…” She then looked at Sun Jung, carresing her face gently. she was still amazed at how this face resembled her little sister a lot. “Seeing my little niece is already grown up like this.. somehow makes me sad but grateful at the same time.”

“Eemo..” Sun Jung wrapped her arms around Hyun Joo. Remembering her remained time in home with her auntie made her tore up as well.  “If you’re like this, how could I leave…”

She rested her head on her shoulder, nuzzling her face on it. Even though Hyun Joo was her auntie. But she was the only one who raised Sun Jung since she was ten, since she lost her mother, since she started her tough and lonely days without her mother.

“You know. Wherever I am, I’ll never leave you, eemo. Never.”

Hyun Joo smiled and inhaled deeply. “I know, sweety. I know.”

Deep inside. Hyun Joo prey, wishing all the best for her niece.

———————————————————————————

It was already late, but Hyun Joo still couldn’t close her eyes. She sighed as she looked at the clock then turned to sleeping Sun Jung. The girl finally fell to deep slumber after firing her with questions which made her shut her mouth even tighter. Sun Jung became more demanding since Hyun Joo revealed the truth. When Sun Jung was a kid, she often asked why she had no father and sibling like her friends. But no one could answer the truth, even her mother.

Hyun Joo let out a faint smile as she gently stroked her hair.

“Sun Jung-ah…” She stared at the sleeping face. “People said you resemble your eomma a lot. But… do you know something more than it?” Hyun Joo paused and smiled. “The way you act… your wide lively smile… your obsession… and your never ending spirit. They are all come from your father.”

Hyun Joo smiled as she kept stroking her hair.

“That’s what your mother always told me.”

Daejeon

08.00 AM

Sun Jung dropped her rucksack and looked around to her family and friends for the last time before leaving.

“Be careful, okay?” Hyun Joo said before giving a warm hug to her.

The girl pouted as she idly buried her face in to her shoulder. “I’ll be missing you.”

“Me too, sweety. Remember the promise?”

Sun Jung sighed as she remember the promise she made for her auntie. She smiled weakly at her. “I will…” She then looked behind Hyun Joo. There were Ha Ra, Ji Won, and some of her friends came to bid their goodbyes.

“Eonni.” Ha Ra approached her. Sun Jung couldn’t stand seeing Ha Ra came to her with teary eyes.

“You’ll be back to us again, right? Promise me!” Ha Ra couldn’t help but sobbing against her  shoulder.

Sun Jung was having hard time to choke back her tears. “Yah, stop crying. I’ll be back for sure, so stop crying, okay?” she patted her back.

Just when Ha Ra withdrew herself, a little girl ran to her with opened arms. Sun Jung lowered herself and hugged Ji Won who already cried.

“Aigoo, why is this little girl crying too? Don’t cry, please.”

“We will be missing you, eonni.”

Sun Jung chuckled as she ruffled Ji Won’s hair. “Me too… take care of yourself, okay?”

Ji Won nodded as Sun Jung wiped her tears away. Sun Jung then stood up, coming toward the others, hugging them one by one as they sent their “good luck” to her.

Sun Jung wiped off her own tears and chuckled. She took her auntie’s hand and wrapped an arm around her. “Guys, please take care of my auntie. Don’t let her overworked.”

“We always do, Sun Jung-ah.” The eldest said as he patted her shoulder. “We should be the one who say that to you, take care of yourself.”

Sun Jung smiled. “Of course, sabeum nim, thank you so much.” She hugged him once again for the last time. He was always like a grandfather to her. No wonder she would be also missing this person a lot.

“Noona, just call us when something distract you! We will come in flash!”

Sun Jung  smiled again. “Thanks a bunch, Jun.” She then turned around and sighed heavily. Why it was so hard for her to just move her feet.

“Ah, I think I should go now. You guys, have to—Eeeep!”

Sun Jung was startled by Ha Ra, Ji Won, and others who suddenly hugged her in unison. Hyun Joo just looked at them with sad smile. Sure, they wouldn’t let the girl go away from them. She felt sorry, because she couldn’t do anything with it.

Sun Jung laughed as she couldn’t hold back her tears anymore. “Yaaah! You guys!”

Lee Hyun Ki (Kim Joon) and Lee Sang Kyung (Gong Yoo)

Daejeon

Train Station

09.00 AM

“Excuse me mam, a ticket to Seoul, please.” A tall man with casual look was standing in front of a ticket counter as he took out his wallet.

The lady behind the counter was a bit nervous doing her work. Her eyes hardly leave the handsome figure in front of her as she gave his ticket with a wide smile. “Here you are, sir.”

The man smiled back as he handed the money. “Thank you.”

Lee Hyun Ki was walking through the crowd of the station. He smiled lightly as he looked around at the lively atmosphere. The vibration of his phone startled him, he took it off from his jacket and saw the blinking screen.

Lee Sang Kyung is calling…

“Hyung, what’s up?”

“Hyun Ki-yah! where are you now? How’s everything?”

“Everything was fine. I’m on my way to Seoul now.”

“Ah, really? By what? Aaish, it so noisy there! Where are you now?”

Hyun Ki grinned as he looked around. “I’m at the train station now, hyung.”

“You go home with train?! Haish, this kid. Yah, when will you arrive?”

Hyun Ki glanced at his watch as he stepped in to the train, looking for a vacant seat.

“Maybe few hours before lunch time. Why?”

“Ah, want me to pick you up? Since I’m not really busy today.”

Hyun Ki smiled. “Nah, it’s okay. Just take care of yourself.”

“Yah! How rude! Rejecting your brother’s offer.”

Hyun Ki chuckled. “Yah! That’s not it. Don’t you want to check on your restaurant?”

“Yah, I’m the owner! I can come and go whenever I want to!”

“I know I know… but you don’t have to pick me up. I’ll visit you there when I arrive. Just prepare a nice lunch for me, how?”

“Ah, Okay.”

Dang, the train was already full. Hyun Ki kept searching before he finally spotted a vacant seat with a girl beside it.

He took away his phone for a moment, “Excuse me miss, can I sit here?”

The girl, who was dozing off, immediately snapped out before nodding her head.

“Ah, thank you.” He beamed politely as he put his rucksack on the floor then sat there with sigh.

“Already find your seat?”

“Yeah, I’ll see you in Seoul then, hyung.”

“Great, be carefull okay.”

“Alright.” He hang up then looked at his side. He politely smiled once again to the girl. “Are you heading to Seoul too, miss?”

“Y—Yes.”

————————————————————————————-

“Annyong haseyo, sangsaenim! Thank you for visiting and taking care of us! We hope to see you again in here! Have a safe triiiiip! We love you!”

Hyun Ki chuckled as he watched a bunch of kids waving happily at him in the video he just received by e-mail.

“Love you too.” He grinned before placing back the phone in to his pocket.

The train had begin its trip about thirty minutes ago. Hyun Ki rested his head, and was about to enjoy the beautiful sight outside when his cellphone rang. He sighed and checked it. It’s only a text message.

Oppa, when will you be back?

-Kyung Soon-

Ah, it’s from his little sister, Kyung Soon. Hyun Ki grinned as he typed back.

Why? Miss me that much? XD

-Hyun Ki oppa-

At the other place. Ahn Kyung Soon was pouting as she read her new message.

“Yah, what are you doing there?!” Hae Won called out as she rushed toward her. “Aish, come on, you have to change your dress now!” she pulled Kyung Soon along, guiding her to the dressing room.

“Ah! I know I know! Just slow down!” she followed Hae Won as she typed back.

Whatever…

-Kyung Soon-

Hyun Ki chuckled at the message. That girl, she was always being like this.

Aish, what’s wrong? Tight schedules? I’m going to Seoul today. >=D

-Hyun Ki Oppa-

This time, Kyung Soon couldn’t surpress her smile. Her rare pretty smile. Hae Won frowned at her.

“Aigoo, what’s wrong with the smile?”

“Just happy.” She replied idly

Really?! =D Okay, I’ll be waiting. Take care, oppa. =)

-Kyung Soon-

Hyun Ki just shook his head and smiled. He put his phone back to his pocket then stared outside.

He sighed heavily.

Hyun Ki had been in Daejeon for two weeks for job. It was tiring of course, but nah he always loved his job and also Daejeon. The place where his beloved mom was born and rested peacefully. He smiled. Daejeon always brought this warm feeling to him. The air, the trees, the daily life. Everything.

“Eomma… what should I do?”

He frowned at the slurry voice and turned to his side. The girl beside him was sleeping peacefully with her mouth hanging open. Her head slightly tilted before accidentally falling on to his shoulder. He was pretty sure, it was her voice. Hyun Ki tried to nudge her head gently but failed. He sighed, and just let her slept on his arm.

But what shocked him the most was when she suddenly hugged his arm for dear life. The man gagged.

“Eomma, I’m going to Seoul. Hmm hmm hmm.. wish me luck! Annyong~ hmm.. hmm hmm.” She unconsiously mumbled again. Shaking his arm a bit, she leaned more and smiled comfortably against it.

The other passengers around were holding back their laughter while Hyun Ki just froze at his seat. Speechless.

“Excuse me, miss? Hello? Hello there?” He carefully tapped her shoulder then forehead, trying to wake her up. But poor, the girl didn’t move even an inch from him.

Hyun Ki sighed in defeat then looked back at the other passengers. They were still watching them.

Awkward…

He smiled nervously as he bowed his head and smiled to them politely.

“Sorry, she is very tired.” He said, pointing at the sleeping girl. The other passengers just smiled and nodded in understanding. Hyun Ki glanced back at the girl. He just smiled and shook his head. Well, looked like his trip to Seoul would be a…

…bit colourful, heh?

————————————————————————————–

“Hello there, miss?”

Sun Jung frowned at the voice. Everything was still black when she felt gentle taps on her shoulder.

“Excuse me, miss? We are already in Seoul, now.” A gentle voice was echoing in her ears.

She fluttered her eyes as the blurness slowly eased. A man was staring at her closely. She blinked again.

No way…

It’s just too close.

“WHOAAA!” Sun Jung immediately withdrew herself from the man in quick reflex. But poor her, she moved too far which made her head hit the window. Really hard.

She wailed in pain.

“Arrgh! Aigooh! Aigooo! SH**T!” she practically cursed as she cupped her head with closed eyes. Her loud curse just made the others turned to her.

Hyun Ki grabbed her shoulders to help regaining her balance. “Miss, are you allright?!” he carefully touched her head, checking if there’s any wound.

“AWW! DON’T TOUCH!” the girl blurted out then gasped, realizing she just shouted at a total stranger. Hyun Ki just stared at her with raised brows, a bit shocked at her sudden yell.

“Ah! I—I’m sorry! I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to yell at you. Aaawh.”

He sighed and put a smile on. “No, no it’s okay with me. Are you allright, miss?”

“I’m.. I’m okay. Re.. really okay.” Sun Jung heaved deep breath before standing up and bringing up her big rucksack. She went out from their seat then respectfully bowed at him.

“I’m really sorry, sir. And thank you very much for waking me up.” She uttered before going out from the train. She was too embarrased to give a smile.

Hyun Ki raised a brow as he watched her walking limply from behind. The rucksack was too big for her. well, maybe she was a hiker? No idea.

He just chuckled and shook his head before doing his things and went out as well.

—————————————————————————————-

Sun Jung stormed out from the crowd before residing to the corner. She dropped her rucksack, catching her breath.

“Aaah! That’s really embarrassing! How come? Yah, Han Sun Jung! You’re doomed! Aish, how embarrasing…” Sun Jung cursed herself as she covered her face and shook her head.

“By the way, where is Chongie?” she looked around to find Chung Ho, who already promised  to pick her up at the station.

“Sunnie-yah?”

Sun Jung turned around when she heard someone calling her nickname. A familiar girl was standing there with a wide smile attached on her pretty face. Sun Jung raised her brows in surprise.

“Chungie-yah?!”

She’s Choi Chung Ae, Chung Ho’s twin sister.

The girls examined each other from head to toe before squealing and running toward each other. Hugging like there was no tomorow.

“No way! Sunnie-yah, you didn’t change a bit!”

“Yaah! That’s rude, Chungie!”

“Well, I am right! You are still as pretty as before, silly!” Chung Ae smiled wickedly as she poked Sun Jung’s forehead before hugging her again. It was almost four years they didn’t meet since Chung Ho and Chung Ae moved from Daejeon.

Sun Jung couldn’t help but blushed at Chung Ae’s statement. She chuckled, patting Chung Ae’s back. “Aish, You also haven’t changed, my pretty girl. I miss you.”

“Me too.. Sorry, you must be waiting us that long.”

“Nah, I just arrived. I thought you are in London!”

Chung Ae smiled. “Well, I’m on vacation right now!”

“Omo, what a great coincidence!”

“Yah, you two! Stop that!” Chung Ho, being the only one who watched, was pissed off at the back. Well, secretly he was hoping for a warm hug from his long-time-no-see best friend.

The girls turned to him then giggled.

“Aish, jealous much?” Chung Ae sneered at him as she embraced Sun Jung tighter. Sun Jung giggled then walked toward him.

Chung Ho just hung his head down and kept staring at her moving feet.

“Yah!” Sun Jung daringly snatched his cap away, revealing the blushing Choi Chung Ho underneath. He slowly lifted his gaze to her, until their eyes met.

They stared at each other with such serious expressions, until those silly grins slowly crept up to their faces. Both laughed hard as they hugged each other tightly.

“Choi Chung Ho! Fool! I miss yoooou!”

“Han Sun Jung! I miss you to deaaaaath!” exclaimed Chung Ho, couldn’t surpress his laughter.

Chung Ae grinned widely at the sight. “Yah! You two! Don’t take all the fun for yourself! Not fair!” she quickly ran and hugged both of them.

The three were hugging each other while giggling like kids, creating a warm yet funny sight in the middle of the crowd. It’s like the time was turning them back to six year old innocent kids.

Just like when they happily shared place to built a castle sand together.

————————————————————————————-

“Welcome!” Chung Ae shouted as she opened the door for Sun Jung.

“Sorry, maybe it’s not as big as you may think.” Chung Ho mumbled as he scratched his head.

“Haish, what are you talking about.. your flat is nice.” praised Sun Jung as she glanced around the room. She then followed Chung Ae to the kitchen.

“Wow, it’s really neat and clean in here, Chungie-yah.”

Chung Ae smirked as she opened the fridge. “Sure! if I wasn’t here, this flat would be a mess!” she stated as she gave Sun Jung a glass of orange juice. “Here. You can rest now. You must be really tired after a long trip.”

Sun Jung took a sip of her drink then shook her head. “Aniyo, I’m not that sleepy. I was…” she paused to drink it first before continuing. “…sleeping during the trip.”

Chung Ae raised a brow then chuckled. “Aigoo, this girl hasn’t changed yet. I hope you didn’t do anything embarrasing again.”

Sun Jung nearly burst her orange juice as she remembered her recent embarrasing incident in the train. She immediately covered her mouth.

“Yah, are you okay?” Chung Ae turned to her.

Sun Jung carefully gulped down her orange juice. “Aniyo, it’s just I did it.”

“What?!” Chung Ae laughed. “Aaah, no wonder Han Sun Jung.”

“I didn’t know what exactly I did, but when I woke up. I just realized that I was sleeping on someone’s shoulder.”

Chung Ae chuckled as she shook her head. “and then?”

“And then…” I hit the window. Sun Jung couldn’t say it, she went red as she shook her head in embarrasment. “No way! No way! No way!”

“Yah, what’s wrong with you?”

Seoul

09.00 PM

Han River

“Liar…”

He halted his step when the girl behind him started sobbing. He balled his fist, fighting the urge from turning around.

“I’m sorry.” He said, almost whispering. “It’s already late, you should go back home.”

“Liar! You already planned all of this, right?! You’re lying to me!” she screamed at his back, couldn’t help but tear up.

The man inhaled deeply as he inclined his head toward the dark sky, holding back his own tears. It broke him so much for leaving her. The only one he loved. But what now? He couldn’t do anything more besides this.

“I’m sorry, Shin Jung-ah.” He finally uttered his last words before walking away, leaving her behind.

Shin Jung widened her eyes as she watched him slowly walked away from her. He really shocked her with his unusual self.

“No…”

This was not him.

“No! Oppa!” she ran and hugged him from behind, stopping him. He froze, feeling her tiny arms wrapping around him with her head resting on his back.

“Oppa…” she whispered, “This isn’t you..”

“Shin Jung-ah..” He bit his lip, apparently couldn’t hold it anymore. He let go her arms and turned around, planting a tender kiss on her lips. Shin Jung was taken aback by his sudden action, but soon letting herself went with it. Her arms slowly went up around his neck as he deepened the kiss, feeling her more. Warm feeling slowly sprinkling within her as she felt his arms wrapping tightly around her, obviously not wanting to leave.

He broke the kiss and stared deeply at her eyes. Those beautiful eyes he always fell for. He let out a faint smile as he gently wiped off her tears.

“I love you…”

CUT! Great job Kyung Soon-ssi and Yoochun-ssi! Ok guys! let’s prepare the setting for the next scene!” the director commanded as he clapped to the crews.

The couple broke their embrace as the crews quickly gathered to build the setting for the next scene.

Ahn Kyung Soon, the Shin Jung girl, bowed to the actor and crews before going to Hae Won who quickly offered a bottle of water to her. Kyung Soon hastily drank it to the rest.

“Yah yah yah, drink it slowly! Aigoo, this kid…” Hae Won shook her head as she carefully wiped Kyung Soon’s face with small towel.

Kyung Soon curled her lips as she handed back the bottle to Hae Won. “Aish, I’m very thir—Aak!” She squeaked when a pair of large hands covered her eyes in a sudden.

Hae Won looked at the figure behind Kyung Soon and let out a sigh. She just grinned and shook her head.

“Yah! Who is it?!” Kyung Soon scoffed. She wasn’t in the mood for this kind of joke. She touched the hands, slowly trying to recognize it. She took the scent for a second before a huge grin spread on her face.

“Hyun Ki oppa! It’s you, right?!”

The hands fell down as Kyung Soon turned around to see Lee Hyun Ki was standing behind her. “Haish, you’re good at sensing me!” He sighed in defeat.

Kyung Soon cooly formed her lopsided smile to him. “I can smell you, oppa.”

“Haish, this kid.” Hyun Ki chuckled as he ruffled her hair.

“Yaaah! My hair!”

“You improve a lot these days. Good Job,  dongsaeng-ah.” He gave out two thumbs for her.

“Thank You.” Kyung Soon smiled at him, she was about to say something when the director called.

“Ok, guys! come on! we are going to shoot the next scene!”

“Aish, why so fast?” She grumbled uncomfortably then looked back at Hyun Ki. “Sorry oppa, I’ll be back.” Kyung Soon rushed to the director. The actors already gathered and rehearsed their dialouges for minutes.

“Fighting!” Hyun Ki waved before taking a seat beside Hae Won.

“You come alone?”

“Yeah.” He placed a carton bag on the table. “I just visited hyung at his restaurant. I asked him to go with me but seems like he has another plan tonight. So I just brought this from him.”

Hae Won eyed the bag. Her sensitive nose could smell strong aroma of tasty kimbab inside. She secretly gulped before throwing her gaze back to him. “Ah, I see..”

Hyun Ki grinned at her obvious action. Man, he knew this latter for years. She must be really hungry. “So, how is everything? I heard Young Ho samchun is already in Korea.”

Hae Won looked up at her little cousin who was busy discussing some lines with another actress.

“No idea. Even getting worse.” She sighed as she rested her head. “I don’t even know what to do anymore, besides taking care of them… separately like this.”

Hyun Ki took out a box of kimbab from the bag then offered it to Hae Won. “Here, I bet you didn’t eat anything after your lunch.”

Hae Won raised a brow at him. “Whoa, how did you know?”

“How did I know, hmm?” Hyun Ki looked at her and made a funny face, he playfully moved his hand in front of her face as if he was scanning her. “I can read it all in your face.”

Hae Won pouted as she hit his shoulder playfully. “Haish, whatever. Thank you. You know me very well.”

“Hae Won-ah, I could understand it. But you shouldn’t make it hard for you. At least don’t forget to take care of yourself.”

Hae Won snorted at his old advice. “Understood, sangsaenim! So, how was your week in Daejeon?”

Hyun Ki smiled as he leaned back. “I had a lot of fun.”

————————————————————————————-

Meanwhile at Choi’s flat.

“Let’s eat!” cheered Chung Ho.

Sun Jung looked at Chung Ho then Chung Ae. She smiled, it’s been a while for them to eat together like this.

“But Chongie.” Sun Jung began as her fingers playing with the chopsticks. “I think this audition is lack of publication.”

Chung Ho paused munching his food then looked at her for a second. He cleared his throat. “Well, Sunnie… to be honest this audition is unplanned.”

Sun Jung raised a brow. “Why?”

“Well, our photographer suddenly withdrew from the company and we need a replacement as soon as possible. So the company just spread the news to some trustworthy places.”

“Trustworthy place?”

“Like… photography academy.”

Hearing that, Sun Jung botherly put her chopsticks down, suddenly losing her appetite.

Chung Ho stopped as well. “Yaah, it’s not that they are greater than you. Come on don’t be like that.”

“That’s right.” Chung Ae agreed.

“Haish, but If they only spread it to photography academies then why did you call me? I have no formal education!”

“Because you’re a trustworthy place~, babo. you don’t have to worry about that!” Chung Ae answered as she playfully poked Sun Jung’s forehead with her chopsticks.

“Aish!” Sun Jung snorted. “You guys are expecting too high from me.” She grumbled as she poked back Chung Ae’s forehead with her chopsticks.

“Yah!”

“Yah, stop it, kids. So, Sunnie-yah, tomorrow you will go to my office.” Chung Ho said nonchalantly as he poured water to his mug.

“What?!” Sun Jung was surprised. “Yah! The audition isn’t tomorrow, right?!”

“We’ll visit Chongie’s office!” Chung Ae grinned.

“Huh?!”

“Yeah, you have to know the field before the war begins, don’t you?” Chung Ho grinned widely. “And I’ll introduce you to my friends!”

“Your friends?!”

“Haish, don’t worry. His friends are really friendly. I got along with them quickly.” Chung Ae reassured as she secretly stole Chung Ho’s beef in a flash.

“Yah! Chungie! That’s mine!” Chung Ho whined and was about to take one from Chung Ae when Sun Jung quickly stole another beef from him.

“Aigoo, focus on your food, Chongie!” Sun Jung chuckled.

Chung Ho raised his brows. “Yah, you girls! Stop bullying me!”

The girls just laughed at poor Chung Ho. Yeah, things still didn’t change. He’s still the victim.

———————————————————————————–

It’s already 1.17 AM, but Sun Jung still couldn’t close her eyes since previous hours. She just lay there on the bed she shared with Chung Ae. She sighed with her eyes staring blankly at the dark ceiling above. She was in deep thought.

Seoul. Here she was. Carrying a mission which she even didn’t sure what it was. Sun Jung sighed. Her mind was still bewildered by the fact of her having a sibling. To be more exact…

It’s a twin sister…

She frowned, closing her eyes. It’s not easy for her to just trust what her auntie told before. She even couldn’t understand herself when she just obeyed her auntie, packed her things, then went to Seoul without any preparation in her mind. She was so confused at that time, which made her couldn’t think any single thing.

Sun Jung got up and sat there with closed eyes. Everything was paralyzed in her head. Heaving a deep breathe, she opened her eyes slowly and saw her rucksack right in front of her. She bit her lower lip, staring at it for a moment.

“Your eomma… she wants to tell you everything.”

“Everything…” she mumbled unconsiously as her eyes slowly lightened up. Yanking her blanket aside, Sun Jung carefully crawled toward her rucksack. She took the old diary out, and looked at its cover. She rubbed it slowly before opening the first page of it. It was only her mother’s name there along with the signature. She smiled as she opened the next page.

This time Sun Jung couldn’t hold back her giggle when she saw an old photograph of her mother and auntie. They were still really young in that sephia photo. The sisters were cutely pouting to the camera. Jin Ae, her mother, was holding a small trophy. She was clad in a simple but pretty dress while Hyun Joo just wore a comfy t-shirt with short pants, she was wrapping her arm around Jin Ae’s shoulders. There was a handwriting message below the photo.

Here she is! The winner of school beauty contest, Han Jin Ae~!

Chukae my kitty dongsaeng!

This diary is my gift for you~ XD

Take care of it!

I always love you ^o^

-Your super eonnie, Han Hyun Joo-

Sun Jung chuckled, finding how sweet these sisters were. Hyun Joo ever told her how weak Jin Ae was when they were in their school days. That’s why Hyun Joo called Jin Ae “kitty dongsaeng” while Jin Ae called Hyun Joo “super eonnie”. Because Hyun Joo was the one who always be her guardian.

Sun Jung smiled. It grew wider as she was intrigued to observe more and more of it. She giggled all the way, slowly easing herself out from her thought before, for a moment.

Just for a moment.

————————————————————————————–

Meanwhile, at the same time, another place. There was another girl who couldn’t asleep as well. Ahn Kyung Soon was still awake with only her tabel lamp lightened up the whole room.

She sat on her bed. A photo frame in her hands. Her eyes glued at it while her fingers tracing every curve of the picture in it. A woman with a beautiful toddler in her arms. They were sitting in a bench, laughing happily with a big leafy tree standing behind them. Everything was beautiful at that time. That moment and the things around them. Kyung Soon still remembered it.

She let out a faint chuckle as her tears dropped on to the picture. She quickly wiped them off and hardly bit her lip, stopping herself from going further.

But like always, she couldn’t stop. Whenever that feeling came up, she would go through with this kind of routine. Those memories never fade away from her mind. It would bring her smiling as she remembered each moments, and drown with all of them. But after minutes, we would find this girl sobbing, gritting her teeth while clutching the photograph on her chest.

Just like now.

Because those are nothing but memories…

Ahn family mansion

“Excuse me, sajangnim. Your coffee.”

Young Ho placed his morning newspaper aside with a smile. “Thank you.” He took a sip of his coffee when he heard footsteps. He looked up and saw his daughter, Kyung Soon, was descending the stairs. She was clad in simple brown coat, ready to leave when someone called her.

“Kyung Soon-ah, already up? Aigoo, are your schedules really this early? Where’s Hae Won, by the way? She isn’t coming today?”

She halted her steps as her father’s voice coming out from behind.

“You must be still tired after last night shooting, right?” He smiled gently. “Now, let appa drive you to the location then. How?”

Kyung Soon just stood still without turning her back to him. She let out an uncomfortable sigh.

“I can do it myself.” She sternly said and was about to leave when her father caught her hand, holding back.

“Kyung Soon-ah, don’t be like that. Let appa—”

But before he could finish, Kyung Soon already let go his hand and quickly left without a word. Just like that. Young Ho froze at his place and just watched his daughter walking in hurry until she vanished from his sight.

Young Ho let himself walking toward the door and standing there with his eyes glued to the wide park of the mansion. There, he saw her white car left. But not long after that, another car passed, following behind.

He inhaled deeply. He might be couldn’t stay along her side anymore. But it didn’t mean he couldn’t watch over her. His eyebrows creased as his mind became uneasy. This was the only thing that made him like this. His daughter. Years had passed. That incident was already far away from their life. But still, nothing had changed between them. Otherwise, it’s becoming worse. Almost rotten. Which only made him wondering…

Why.. he’s still here with her?

————————————————————————————-

Go Jin On (Kang Ji Sub) & Ahn Kyung Soon (Jung Jessica)

————————————————————————————-

Kyung Soon stared straight at the road in front of her. A bucket of flowers laid on the seat beside her. It’s still early, and the road was still very quiet. She sighed as she took out her phone to dial someone, but only to be greeted with mailbox voice.

“Ahn Hae Won’s personal mailbooox~ please leave a message!”

“Eonni, you don’t have to pick me up today. I’ll go to your apartement. Later.” She hang up and threw her phone aside.

She sighed as she leaned back her head. Her eyes were still swollen because less time of sleep and too much crying. Despite her full list schedules for today, something had bothered her since last night, which only led her here. A feeling she couldn’t ran away from.

Kyung Soon sighed deeply as she added more speed. Hopefully, she could heal her distracted mind after this.

But she was too engrossed with her own thought to notice what was going on behind her. A black car was following her in fair distance. Inside, there was only a young man, wearing a thick black jacket which covered up until his neck. His eyes glued to the car in front of him. She was going there. He knew it for sure. He had followed her through this route many times. And he was good enough to keep himself away from her reach. Yes, out of her reach.

“…this might be my last request to you.”

He remembered it. He already did this job for years. No, It’s not stalking but watching. Which made him learn a lot about her. But never brought him closer to her, even an inch. Go Jin On let out heavy sigh as he kept focusing at his speed, and her. Ahn Kyung Soon. His responsibility. His job.

“Please watch over her.”

Seoul

01.10 PM

Brill-On Magazine Office Building

Canteen

“Ah, so you’re coming to Seoul for the audition?”

Sun Jung smiled and nodded politely to the women in front of them. “Ye, something like that.”

She was in Brill-On canteen now, having lunch with Chung Ae and two women of Chung Ho’s friends. Kang Min Chu, the fashion stylist and Kim Soo Yun, the fashion editor. Chung Ho was out for something.

“Fighting for the audition! No need to be nervous. Just do your best.” Encouraged Min Chu with a wide smile.

Sun Jung grinned and nodded. “Kamsahamnida, Kang Min Chu-ssi.”

“Aigoo.” Min Chu waved her hand as she sighed. “How many times I told you not to call me formally like that? Just call me ‘eonni’ or ‘Min Chu’.”

“Ah, I think eonni fits better.” She smiled groggily.

Honestly, Sun Jung was a quite nervous talking with them because of their oh-so stylish fashion and charming aura. But their friendly personalities made her didn’t bother to ask further about the company and else. Through minutes she already felt comfortable with them. Well, Chung Ae was right, they’re quite friendly and bubbly.

But despite enjoying their chat, she felt something wrong right now. Well, it’s her stomach, which made her flinched.

“Excuse me, eonnie do you know where the restroom is?”

“Oh! It’s pretty near but it’s out from this canteen. You’ll find the signs when you’re out. Should I come with you?” Min Chu asked.

“Ah, thank you, I’ll be fine.” Sun Jung beamed and stood up. “Kamsahamnida!” she bowed to them before leaving.

“Yah, doesn’t she remind you of someone?” Min Chu asked as she watched Sun Jung walking out.

“Are you talking about Ahn Kyung Soon, eonni?”Chung Ae bluntly said.

Min Chu gasped and slapped her forehead. “Omo, that’s it! She reminds me of Ahn Kyung Soon! They kinda look alike! Yah, don’t you think so, Soo Yun-ah?” she asked, elbowing Soo Yun.

“Huh? What? Her and Ahn Kyung Soon?!” Soo Yun frowned as she shifted her glasses, imagining. “Umm, No. I don’t see it.”

Min Chu sighed, rolling her eyes at her friend. “Haish, you need a new glasses.”

“Yaa, I just bought this yesterday!”

—————————————————————————————-

Hyun Joo sat alone in her living room with her eyes glued to her small television.

“Yesterday, founder of Young Photography academy, Ahn Young Ho, visited the academy to announce their new scholarship programme for…”

She watched how the figure walking through the press as he greeted them with his warm smile. The reporters quickly gathered around him, demanding with various questions. However, he could go with it as he answered them patiently.

“Young Ho-ssi, we heard a rumor that Kyung Soon-ssi is going to sign a contract with another agency, as her father and the owner of her current agency now, what do you think of her choice?”

The man let out  faint chuckle. “It’s just a rumor, right? Anyway, if she’s going to another agency, it’s okay for me. She’s already grown up and know what is the best for her. As a father, I would support her choice as long as it’s positive for her.”

Hyun Joo sighed. Her mind became distracted again as she watched him talked. Anger, despiration, and regret were mixed inside, making herself suffocated. But she didn’t have anyone to blame, not even this man.

Just because of her sister.

Hyun Joo couldn’t watch anymore and finally turned it off. She rested her head with sigh, massaging her forehead.

“Sun Jung-ah, I’m sorry… But.. to be honest..”

She opened her eyes, staring blankly at the ceiling above.

“Your father knows nothing about you.”

————————————————————————————

“Sun Jung-ah! What are you doing? Let’s have dinner!” shouted Chung Ae outside the room.

“A moment!”

Sun Jung was in the middle of reading her mother’s diary. She was about to close it when she noticed something in between the pages. She flipped the pages and found out a small envelope sticking on the paper. She carefully opened it and took out its contains, discovering them one by one. She frowned. They were all photos of a little girl.

“Who is this?”

The girl was showing different cheerful poses with a large beautiful park as its background. Her frown went deeper, mentally debating whether that girl was herself or not. There were some resemblances as she could remember. But no, she never had a big mansion not even wearing such pretty dresses like in those photos.

This was definitely not herself.

“Is she…”

She trailed off as she noticed a small piece of paper inside the envelope. She carefully took it out, discovering a neat handwriting message.

Her eyes went wide as she looked back at the photos once again with such thoughts flooding her mind.

“So… it’s true…”

Episode 2 part 1

Sun Jung was wandering aimlessly around the downtown. Following where her feet led her to. The conversation with her auntie on that night was echoing in her head again.

“This girl… has a strong relation with you.”

She crossed the road, just following where the crowd were going to. She didn’t want to go home at this time. She couldn’t understand though. Her mind was full with questions. Even the noise of people around her couldn’t snapped them out. She was too busy with her own thought.

A group of school girls passed her with loud laughter which made Sun Jung jumped out from her deep thought. She sighed and patted her chest before walking back through the street. Well, they’re just kids, she couldn’t blame them.

But her steps automatically stopped, right when they shouted one name.

“Yah, look look look! It’s Kyung Soon eonni in her newest CF!”

“Chincha?! Where? Where?!”

“Whoaaa, she’s really pretty!”

“Of course she is!”

Sun Jung turned around to the girls and saw a big flat TV screen in front of a store. She knitted her brows as she stepped closer to them. There, she saw her.

——————————————————————————–

Flashback

“W… what?”

Her voice turned low as she tried to settle herself to the statement she just heard from her auntie.

Hyun Joo looked at her niece then back to the girl in the magazine. She sighed.

“This girl, Ahn Kyung Soon..” Hyun Joo paused as she stared back at Sun Jung. “She is you—”

“No way!” Sun Jung quickly cut off, shaking her head. “Come on, eemo. This is a joke, right? Are you playing prank?” She squinted her eyes. “Please, this isn’t even funny, eemo!”

Hyun Joo tried to calm herself as she looked for another way to make Sun Jung trust her. It must be hard for the girl to accept. No wonder, Sun Jung was kept in the dark for almost twenty one years.

“It’s true. Sun Jung-ah. She’s your sister. Both of you are twins.”

Sun Jung stared back at her auntie in disbelief. How could be it’s true? Her and that idol? Twins? Oh, come on! It’s a lame joke!

Sun Jung snorted and shook her head. “No, I… I can’t understand all of this.”

“Sun Jung-ah.”

“Allright! Just if…” Sun Jung bit her lip. “..if that’s true, then why? why did we get separate?”

———————————————————————————

The girls still couldn’t stop praising the idol. Sun Jung shifted her gaze to them then back to the screen. She didn’t know what’s going on her mind. Confused. She was so confused and clueless.

“If that’s true, then why? why did we get separate?”

She narrowed her eyes, couldn’t leave the figure while thoughts were running wild in her head.

“It’s a long story to tell, Sun Jung-ah…”

Episode 2 part 1

————————————————————————————–
“Your eomma wants to tell you everything..”
Han Hyun Joo
————————————————————————————–

“Annyeong!”

Someone greeted from afar. Almost unheard.

Hmm?

“Annyeong!”

Who’s that?

Everything was black to her, but that sound kept coming closer and closer. She didn’t hear any footsteps. There was just voice of a child echoing, calling for her.

“Annyeong!”

Whose voice is that?

“Yah, wake up!”

Now the voice was clear to her. Kyung Soon slowly opened her eyes but immediately flinched as the sunray shot her eyes.

“Ugh!” she groaned, covering her face.

“It’s alleady molning now! Wake up! Open your eyes!”

Kyung Soon let her eyes wide open and found herself already standing face to face with a little girl, wearing a beautiful long white dress. Her long black hair fell over her shoulders. She had a pair of big sparkling eyes. And the girl was smiling widely to her.

“…..”

Kyung Soon frowned at the girl. Who’s this? She wondered before checking on herself. She gasped in shock as she saw her own tiny hands and feet.

Me?! Becoming a kid?!

Kyung Soon tapped both her cheeks, then her forehead. She gasped again, feeling her whole body went smaller.

What happened to me?!

While the confusing thoughts were running in her head, the other girl just giggled at her which made Kyung Soon fumed.

“Yah! Is this funny for you?!” Kyung Soon snapped, but gasped again as she realized her voice became shrill, piercing her own ears.

The other girl couldn’t help but laughed as she shook her head and smiled. “Of coulse not! I’m just happy to see you!” her smile grew wider as Kyung Soon’s frown went deeper.

“Welcome!” the girl exclaimed as she opened both her arms to Kyung Soon.

Kyung Soon looked around as the breeze blew, softly touching her tubby cheeks. They were in the middle of a wide field with big willow trees tracing around it neatly. The blooming sunflowers swaying below their shoulders. She looked up. The sky was clear blue with white fat clouds moving slowly underneath it.

All was normal.

But, why was she here?

No idea.

“Am… Am.. Am I dleaming?!”

Kyung Soon asked in panic. What happened?! She, all of sudden, turned in to a kid that even couldn’t pronounce ‘R’ properly.

But her respond was another giggle. Kyung Soon didn’t have any idea why this girl really loved to giggle. It annoyed her. Although somewhat, her giggles sounded innocent to her ears.

“I’m youl halfie!” the girl shouted in excitement as she clapped both her hands and rubbed them. “And no no, you’le not dleaming.” she shook her head then suddenly leaned closer to Kyung Soon’s face.

Kyung Soon quickly backed off when the girl tried to examined her face closely.

“Yah! What’s wlong with you?!” The girl pouted, puffing her cheeks in anger.

“W—what do you mean by ‘I’m youl halfie’?!” Kyung Soon hugged herself away from the stranger’s touch. Terrified. She kept walking backward in fear while the girl kept walking toward her, brushing the sunflowers away in the process.

The girl grinned. “Heeee, that means I’m a palt of you, pabooo! Look! We ale even in the same faily dless!” she said cheekily as she quickly grabbed Kyung Soon’s shoulder which made her squaled in shock.

“Yah! Don’t touch me!”

“Huh?” The girl tilted her head and raised her brows innocently. “Waeyo?”

“Because I don’t even know you! You ale a stlangel!” Kyung Soon attempted to get off, but sadly the girl was stronger than her.

The girl giggled again. “Ke ke ke, you’le leally cute!”

“W-what?!”

The girl ignored her as she took her hand, suddenly pulling her for a run. Kyung Soon yelped, almost fell down in the process.

“Yah! Whele ale we going?”

She didn’t answer. The girl was just giggling away while she kept dragging Kyung Soon around. Kyung Soon protested at first and stubbornly tried to free herself. But since the girl just simply ignored her, Kyung Soon let it go. She finally followed her, running aimlessly with their hands interwined.

Kyung Soon closed her eyes as she slowly went with it. She let her feet running through the field, letting the sunflowers gently brushing her shoulders as she was being dragged along. The laughter echoing in her head. She even didn’t realize it when a content smile slowly forming on her face. She, practically, was enjoying it.

“Yah! Look! Look! Look!” the girl exclaimed with an abrupt stop.

Kyung Soon winced as something cold poked her cheek. She opened her eyes then noticed the white gentle beads falling down from the clear blue sky. She looked up in mixed of amazement and confusion, leaving her mouth opened.

“It’s beautiful isn’t it?!” the girl raised both her hands, trying to catch the falling snowflakes as she let out soft giggles.

Kyung Soon was still taken aback by such phenomenon that happened around her.

Snowflakes? What kind of world is this?

As if the anonymous girl could read her mind, she turned around then flashed her wide grin with opened arms.

“Welcome to oul wolld!”

*RIING* *RIIING* *RIIIIIIIIIIING*RIIIIIIIIIIING*

“Ahn Kyung Soooooon! YAH! Wake up quickly!” Hae Won yelled as she shoved the ringing alarm to Kyung Soon’s face.

“Hmmpf!” Kyung Soon stirred around on her bed as she covered her ears with her pillow.

“YAH!!” Hae Won yelled in frustation. It’s always been like this. Among all of those jobs she could do, waking up Ahn Kyung Soon is the hardest thing in her life. The girl could be pretty dead when she was sleeping.

Hae Won placed her hands on her hip, sighing heavily. “Haish this brat. Allright now if you really want it.” she rolled up her sleeves then made a sudden jump on to the bed. She hugged Kyung Soon tightly and…

..tickled her to death.

Kyung Soon jolted up and shrieked. She rolled herself to get away, but poor, she went too far and fell on to the floor with loud thump.

“Haewonnieeee!” she whined sleepily, tossing around. “I’ll kill you!”

Hae Won laughed as she rolled herself as well. “Aaah! Welcome to the real world, Ahn Kyung Soon-ssi! Goooood Morning!” she greeted as she looked down at her younger cousin.

Kyung Soon was just wiggling on the floor with closed eyes as she managed to sleep again. But before she could approach her dreamland, Hae Won quickly slapped her face with pillow.

“YAH! You have early schedules today, silly! Come on wake up and take shower! Your breakfast is ready downstairs.”

Kyung Soon groaned as she strecthed her arms. “Haish! Arraso arraso!” she got up then headed to her bathroom limply.

“By the way, why were you smiling in your sleep? Having a sweet date dream with a cute boy?” Hae Won asked cunningly.

Kyung Soon halted then turned around, frowning. She was smiling in her sleep? The latest shocking moment came back to her head. Kyung Soon immadiately ran to her mirror, checking her face, hands, and feet as well which only made Hae Won frowned in confusion.

She was in her normal form. Thanks God.

“What’s wrong, dongsaeng-ah?”

Kyung Soon cupped her cheeks and was thinking for a second. She closed her eyes, processing everything in her head.

Ah, that was all just a dream. Just a dream. Just a dream.

She sighed in relief and shook her head. “Nothing. I’ll take shower.”

“Okay! I’ll be waiting downstairs!”

———————————————————————————–

“Hmm! Tasty!” Hae Won was enjoying her breakfast. She looked at her uncle who seemed enjoying the food as well.

“Samchun, you missed Korean cuisine a lot, don’t you?” Hae Won asked as she took another bite of beef.

“A lot.” Young Ho replied with grinned. “But Japanese cuisine is good. I eat almost all of them.”

Hae Won chuckled then took a sip of water. “By the way, are you going out today, samchun?”

Young Ho nodded as he took another beef. “I have a meeting today at the company, also I’ve to check the academy.”

“Haish, why don’t have some rest just for today? Your face looks so tired you know.”

Young Ho chuckled, waving his point finger playfully. “Aigoo, your samchun is truly fine dear, it’s just the face not the heart.”

Hae Won swallowed her food first before chuckling. “Haish samchun, you’re really…” she rolled her eyes in joking manner.

Young Ho laughed lightly. Their morning conversation was getting warmer, until Kyung Soon finally came in scene.

“Aah, Kyung Soon-ah, come. Eat your breakfast. it is getting cold.” Young Ho greeted her with warm smile.

Kyung Soon immadiately stopped. Oh, yeah. She completely forgot the fact that her father was already at home. She turned her gaze, glancing at one of her maids who were standing around them.

“Go Eun Sun-ssi, please bring my breakfast to my room now. I’ll have my breakfast upstairs.” She said nonchalantly before going back to her room. The maid, Go Eun Sun, quickly bowed then gathered Kyung Soon’s breakfast.

Hae Won held her breath upon seeing this. Enough. Kyung Soon did this so many times. She was too much and only getting worse from time to time. It’s like she already lost all her respects toward her father.

“Wait, don’t bring it upstairs. I will talk to her.” Hae Won prevented Eun Sun and managed to go upstairs when Young Ho called.

“Hae Won-ah, just finish your breakfast.” Young Ho calmed her down from his seat. “She just want to have her breakfast in her room. Not a big deal, right? Come on finish your breakfast. Oh, Eun Sun-ssi you can bring it upstairs.”

“Ye, sangsaenim.” Eun Sun quickly gathered the breakfast, she bowed to him first then went upstairs.

Hae Won sighed in defeat as she looked Eun Sun going upstairs.

“Hae Won-ah, I count until three and go back to your seat.” Young Ho jokingly threatened. He put his smile on, signaling everything was alright. He’s always like this. Hae Won knew it well. Too well.

She pressed her lips together and went back to her seat. She looked down at her breakfast and sighed. She really wanted to go upstairs and taught Kyung Soon some manners.

But…

She looked back at her samchun, no she couldn’t do it now.

When will this tension going to over?

Hae Won could only wondering.

Daejeon

Han Dojang (Han Taekwondo Training place)

“Eonni…”

Sun Jung snapped out from her thought as she felt gentle taps on her right shoulder. She turned and spotted a little girl in taekwondo uniform. The girl was staring at her in wonder. Sun Jung then realized where she was now, helping her auntie teaching taekwondo in their small dojang. She looked around and saw the trainees were learning some moves and technique.

“Are you spacing out, eonni?”

Sun Jung smiled as she gently ruffled her head. “Mianhaeyo, I was thinking of something, thanks for waking me up, Ji Won-ah.”

The little girl, Ji Won, grinned. “It’s okay!”

Sun Jung chuckled before realizing that Ji Won was separating herself from the others. “Yah, why are you here, sweety? Aren’t you practicing with your friends?”

Ji Won shook her head. “Ha Ra eonni told me to improve the moves I received before. I still can’t do it properly.” She looked down, fidgeting with her fingers. “She told me to come to you, so you can teach me.”

Sun Jung looked around and saw Ha Ra was busy teaching their juniors. She turned to Ji Won then smiled as she patted her cheek. “Aigoo, what’s with that sad face. Sure, I’ll teach you!”

“Chincha?” the little girl beamed brightly.

“Sure!” Sun Jung quickly got up and stretched her arms. She tightened her black belt then gave out her hand to Ji Won.

“Come on! I’ll teach you some deadly moves too!” she exclaimed aloud.

“Eonni! Don’t teach Ji Won anything weird again!” Ha Ra yelled from afar before checking back her juniors.

“Haish, look who teach her some immature jokes!” Sun Jung sneered as she dragged Ji Won away.

“I heard that, eonni!”

—————————————————————————————

“Ha Raaa, where’s the tray? I need tray!” Hyun Joo half shouted as she poured barley tea in to some cups in front of her.

“I put it on the counter!” came Ha Ra’s reply from another room.

Just when Hyun Joo took the tray, Sun Jung came in and quickly helped her. They both put the cups on to the tray.

“How many left?”

“I think it’s enough, eemo. Let’s go, let me carry these.”

“Alright.”

Both went to the dining room, where the rest were waiting as they chat. They were still in their dojang. The training time was over but some of them stayed just to have some chat and share new stories with drinks and foods. It’s a usual tradition from this dojang. Just to draw stronger bonds between them.

“Aaah, the drinks are coming!” a boy yelled in delight as he approached Sun Jung and helped her with the tray.

“Thanks, Jun.”

“Allright guuuys! Sit down please I have a good news for you all!” an old man, who happened to be the eldest, announced as the rest went back sitting and paid their attentions to him.

“My daughter is pregnant her first child! I’m gonna be a grandfatheeer~!” he laughed in delight as the others applaud and shouted their gratitude toward him.

“Chukkae, sabeum nim!”

“Wait wait wait! I heard Hyun Joo sabeum nim also has a news for us!”

“Really?! What is it?”

“Yeah tell us, sabeum nim!”

“Well..” Hyun Joo looked at them, she sighed as Sun Jung secretly gripped her hand. Hyun Joo looked at their hands then to Sun Jung, who allowed her with a slight nod.

“Well.. tomorrow.” Hyun Joo took a deep breath. “Tomorrow, Han Sun Jung will be moving to Seoul.”

This time, the rest suddenly went silent. They looked at each other in question. This was exactly not a good news for them.

Sun Jung stole a glance at her auntie who had her face calm as usual. She bit her lip and lowered her gaze, not knowing what to do.

“Are you… are you serious, eonni?” Ha Ra was the one who broke the silence.

“Ye—yes, I am.” Sun Jung stammered.

Ha Ra was distracted, she eyed Sun Jung who was still avoiding her gaze from the others. “Why didn’t you tell us earlier, eonni?!” she asked aloud.

Mianhae, I just…” Sun Jung was dumbfounded to explain.

“What do you mean?! Why so sudden?!” Ha Ra yelled as she stood up, kneading her fists. She couldn’t hold it anymore and finally left the room.

“Goo Ha Ra!” The eldest was about to run after her when Sun Jung stood up.

“Sabeum, let me..”

—————————————————————————————-

“Ha Ra?”

Sun Jung carefully wandered along as she called for Ha Ra. She heard cries then found Ha Ra was sitting on a bench near the gate of their dojang. She was there, covering her face, crying.

“Ha Ra-yah…”

Sun Jung came and sat beside her, wrapping her arms around Ha Ra’s waist.

“Mianhae.”

But Ha Ra didn’t respond and just kept crying. Sun Jung sighed as she could only sat there with only her arms comforting Ha Ra. She lost words even only for comforting.

“And please, don’t be sad…”

-Ahn Hae Won

————————————————————————————–

Seoul

Cemetery

Hae Won bowed at the tomb in front of her before placing a bucket of flowers beside it. She stared at the photograph and put a smile on. It’s been a while since her last visit to her auntie’s rest. There was a name of Hong Mi Young written on the tomb.

Gumo, how are you? Kyung Soon is having her shoot for her drama near around here, so I took a moment to visit you. I’m pretty sure Kyung Soon really want to see you. But her schedules are just…” Hae Won rolled her eyes. “… scary?” She chuckled.

“It’s been a while, right? Look I grew up well now.” Hae Won puffed her cheeks and patted them playfully.

“We are all fine in here. My parents are doing well in San Fransisco and so my little brother.” She smiled. “Young Ho samchun just came back from Japan several days ago, he is really fine although he got thinner. But don’t worry! He’ll eat more in here. I could guarantee that for you.”

“And about your little girl…” She snorted then chuckled. “Haish that kid.. Kyung Soon is really doing well, although sometime she hurt herself because of too much practice. She’s kinda troublesome sometimes, aigoo.” Hae Won sighed before forming back her smile.

“And.. about Kyung Soon and Young Ho samchun…” Hae Won trailed off. Not sure if she could tell it. “Ah, I’m pretty sure you’re still watching us, every moves of us.”

Hae Won stared at Mi Young’s photograph for a second. “You don’t like it, do you? Neither do I. I could only hope this will be over soon. Let’s pray for the best, gumo.” She showed an optimistic smile to Mi Young.

“And please, don’t be sad…”

“Already finished?”

Sun Jung glanced over her shoulder and saw her auntie standing by the door. She smiled and continued packing her things. “Almost..”

Hyun Joo walked inside then sat on the edge of the bed. “Your inhaler?”

“Already inside, you know I couldn’t survive without it, eemo.” Sun Jung grinned as she zipped up her big rucksack before sitting beside her auntie.

Hyun Joo looked at the big rucksack then to Sun Jung. Her niece was looking nowhere, spacing out again. It happened so quick, Sun Jung only had few days to decide before she finally chosed to leave Daejeon for Seoul. The girl must be still confuse with all of these. Hyun Joo sighed as she gently shook Sun Jung’s shoulder. Well, Sun Jung would reveal everything later.

“Sun Jung-ah, here… take this with you.” She gave a brown envelope.

Sun Jung took the envelope and check its contains. It’s none other than money. She sighed then looked back at her auntie. “Eemo, you shouldn’t do this. This is too much.”

“Just save it with you, okay? You will need it.”

“Eemo, how could you—” Sun Jung paused for a moment. “Wait, don’t tell me you sold something just for this?” she eyed her auntie curiously.

Hyun Joo smiled. “It’s not important.”

“What did you sell, eemo?”

“Just forget it, sweety. You don’t have to worry about it.” Hyun Joo stroked Sun Jung’s hair gently, calming her down. Sun Jung just sighed and nodded in defeat. It’s not the first time Sun Jung received something like this from Hyun Joo. And it always distracted her whenever her auntie burdened something just for her sake.

“By the way, I wanna give you something.” Hyun Joo said as she handed out a book with plain light purple cover. It was like an old notebook.

Sun Jung examined it before opening the first page of it. There was a handwriting with a signature below it. She held her breath. That was her mother’s handwriting.

“This is your eomma’s diary. Bring this with you.”

Sun Jung looked up at her auntie with confused look. “Why did… you give me this?”

Again, Hyun Joo could only smiled. “Your eomma… she wants to tell you everything.”

“Every… thing?” Sun Jung stared back at the diary. Her slender fingers tracing its cover as her mind was repeating the same question.

Why now, eomma?

“Please, take care of my daughter…” -Han Jin Ae

———————————————————————————————–

Han Hyun Joo was sitting in a room. She stared intently at her little sister in front of her. Han Jin Ae was still lying unconsiously on the bed. Some medical equipments were set on her to watch her condition. Two hours ago,  Jin Ae was rushed to this hospital. She was dying, Hyun Joo knew that.

“Pabo.. ” she whispered but loud enough to hear. “You’re pushing yourself too much and this is what you got.”

As Hyun Joo kept watching of her condition, she noticed Jin Ae was titling her head a bit.

“Jin Ae-yah?”

Jin Ae slowly opened her eyes and blinked before sweeping her gaze around the room in haze. Something stuck in her nose. Her body was too heavy for her to lift. She didn’t have to ask where she was now. She already knew. She smiled inwardly at the thought.

She turned and spotted her sister sitting right next to her with worried look.

“Eonni..” She called faintly. Almost inaudible.

“Jin Ae-yah, finally you awake.” Hyun Joo sighed in relief.

Jin Ae formed a smile as she reached Hyun Joo’s hand and held it. “Eonni, I… wanna tell you something.”

Hyun Joo sighed as she looked at her pale face. Judging by her condition now, Jin Ae shouldn’t talk much. But the determination in her eyes made Hyun Joo couldn’t refuse her.

“Go on.”

“Eonni, please…” Jin Ae tightened her grip. “..take care of my daughter.”

At time like this, Hyun Joo felt her sister was saying too much. “Yah, what are you talking about?! Please don’t say something like that, arraso?”

Jin Ae shook her head weakly. “I already know.. I couldn’t make it anymore.”

“Han Jin Ae, please.. you have to think about Sun Jung-ah. She’s still ten and you wanna leave her? That’s not the right choice.”

A warm tear rolled down Jin Ae’s cheek when Hyun Joo mentioned her daughter’s name. “I do love her..” She paused, inhaling deeply to calm herself, “I just… couldn’t bear seeing her worrying about me all day.”

“You don’t have to worry about it.. you know how much she loves you.” Hyun Joo said shoothingly.

“I know, but…” Jin Ae stared blankly at the ceiling. “..but I’m just being the worst mom for her..”

“Han Jin Ae.” Hyun Joo could smell where their conversation were going to.

“If I… If I didn’t separ—”

“Han Jin Ae, stop! Please stop blaming yourself!” Hyun Joo quickly halted her. “Please don’t talk about this again, okay. This isn’t your fault.” She gently wiped off the tears from Jin Ae’s face.

Jin Ae slowly turned back to her. More tears streaming down her cheeks. She held back Hyun Joo’s hand, smiling faintly.

“Eonni, please forgive me..”

Hyun Joo frowned at this. “Me? Forgive you?”

Jin Ae nodded as she managed her breath.

“Please forgive me. I’m sorry.. I’m so sorry for making you get in to..” she trailed off as she clutched on to her chest. Suddenly lost her breath.

“Yah, Jin Ae-yah, Gwenchana?!” Hyun Joo started to panic as her little sister began trembling and breathing hard all the sudden.

“I will call the doctor!” She was about rushing out when Jin Ae held her hand to stay.

“Eonni..” She managed to smile in-between her short breaths. “..thanks.. for all.”

Her breath stucked, her grip went weaker, and her smile vanished. Han Jin Ae slowly closed her eyes as she let out her last breath.

“No, Jin Ae-yah… Han Jin Ae!” She shook Jin Ae’s shoulder, trying to wake her up. But Jin Ae didn’t show any response. Hyun Joo froze. This was all too sudden.

“Han Jin Ae! Han Jin Ae, wake up!”

But she never woke up anymore.

Han Sun Jung and Han Jin Ae

————————————————————————————————

“I, Han Sun Jung, will always be Han Jin Ae’s good daughter..”

– Han Sun Jung

————————————————————————————————

11 years later…

Daejeon city.

11.45 AM.

The road was crowd enough today. And just like everyday, the cars were surely made their domination. She let out a sigh as she heard so many buzzing engines around her. From behind her fullface helmet, she glanced at the traffic light above her as she gripped tightly at the bars of her motocycle. Well, It’s not her motorcycle exactly, judging by the cow pattern that adorning the box behind her.

A guy beside her opened his helmet and turned to her. “Hey, pretty. Nice bike. Nice uniform.” he said in mocking manner.

She tried to ignore him as she blushed in embarrassement. The uniform she wore was designed in the same pattern as the motorcycle. COW. No wonder if people noticed it quickly. It’s eye-catchy. Like seeing a walking cow on the road.

She bit her lower lip. “So, you underestimate a cow, huh? Let’s see who’s the winner..” she hissed to herself as her sharp eyes stared focusly to the road in front of her.

The light went green. She quickly stomped on the gas, and dashed in a flash. She glanced at her rear view, that guy was trying to reach her but he was left far away behind her. She smirked in victory, feeling like a heroine. Well, Ignore the cow pattern!

She opened her helmet and raised her fist. “This cow is the fatest, you know! Wooooo!” she shouted to herself then laughed.

She then parked right in front of a milk shop which was the main store she was working for.

“Annyong haseyo, kwajangnim! I’m done with the delivery!” She greeted her manager as she rushed to the employee’s room to change her uniform. She quickly changed then ran out to get her bike.

“Sun Jung-ah! Why so hurry?! Come on, have lunch with the others in here!” her manager yelled from the shop.

Sun Jung bowed then hopped on her bike. “Joesonghamnida kwajangnim, I’m in a hurry! Have a nice lunch!” she shouted back before vanishing from the sight.

The manager smiled and shook her head. “Aigoo, what kind of battery she use? Always full of spirit.”

An employee beside her, chuckled, “Kwajangnim, that’s why she is Han Sun Jung.”

Sun Jung rode her bike faster and faster as she couldn’t hold her wide smile.

Annyong Haseyo, Han Sun Jung Imnida~!

This is how I run my day with my beloved bike!

Get ready and watch me!

————————————————————————————————-

She walked through the gravel path. The cemetery was quite as usual. The birds were chirming sweetly at each other, exchanging the harsh sounds of the road out there. The smell of the trees, grass, soil, and flowers mixed in the fresh air. She inhaled deeply. It was really peaceful for her to be here. She could spot some people came to visit their late partner together.

Sun Jung stopped right in front of a tomb where the name of ‘Han Jin Ae’ was written on it. She smiled gently.

“Eomma, annyong, I’m here..” She greeted gently as she put the flowers in front of it and took a seat beside it. She stared longingly at the photograph.

“How have you been, eomma?” She beamed before realizing her messy hair. “Aah, eomma mianhaeyo, I’m kind of messy.. I’ve just done my delivery from that milk shop and come here in a hurry sooo they’re like this.” She fixed her hair and chuckled.

“I’m absolutely fine here with eemo, we eat very well. Oh, have you already eaten, eomma? Ah, what kind of food do you have in there? Is there any tasty kimchi like Hyun Joo eemo made?” She asked bluntly, but then scratched her head. “Ah, stupid questions..” she muttered to herself then flashed a grin.

“Do you know? I do well in all my job!” She began to count with her fingers. “In photostudio, in milk shop, in cafe, in that newspaper agent, and umm… what else? Ah, in eemo’s dojo of course! Aaah, how could I forget that.. haish pabo.” She slapped her head.

She stared back at her mother. She couldn’t tell how much she missed her right now. Especially that gentle smile of her. It’s been eleven years since her mother’s death. And still the same, it always brought her to tears whenever she came to visit her.

“I miss you so much, don’t you miss me? You know, you kept telling me for always being a good girl, and now I’m trying to fullfil it. Although, I never feel I will be the one for you..” She let out another chuckle as she wept her tears on the corner of her eyes.

“Aah, this is embrassing. I’m already twenty one now but still crying like this in front of you..”

But she really couldn’t bear it.

“Eomma, let’s do pinky swear!”Sun Jung poked out her right pinky and showed it to her.

“Are you ready?” She beamed again before declaring sternly.

“I, Han Sun Jung, will be always Han Jin Ae’s good daughter. For Han family, Family is everything, and togetherness is above all.”

She smiled faintly, still staring longingly at her mother when her phone started ringing.

“Aish, how disturbing..” She mumbled as she rummaged her small bag.

“Yoboseyo?” she sighed.

“Yah! Han Sun Jung! Where are you now?! We have too many costumers to handle today! Yah, get in here quick! Or I’ll cut your salary!”  the old man on the other line was babbling impatiently.

Sun Jung grimaced as she recognized the voice. “JJ—Jo—Joesonghamnida, sajangnim! I’ll be there in a flash!” she quickly hang up and turned off her phone.

“Hee, mianhaeyo, eomma.. That’s Yong sajangnim, you still remember him right? I told you before! The cafe’s owner! An old man who admires eemo so much! But, I disagree with it! Because sometime he is kinda scary, Booo~~.” She swayed her hands, trying to immitate a ghost.

“Ah, I have to go, eomma.. Mianhae, my visit today is too short. I will visit you again, I promise.” She smiled as she stroked gently at the photograph.

“Saranghaeyo, eomma.”

Seoul city

Ahn Hwang Lee Entertainmet Building.

09.00 PM.

Ahn Hae Won was walking through the corridor. She just back from checking out the condition outside the building. It was pretty crowd out there. She sighed remembering how she would escape from them, but at least she could go home now.

Today was another tiresome day for Hae Won. Being a manager for her cousin, who happened to be a raising idol, was enough to shed her bones to the ground. The tight schedules and the crazy chants of the fans were the things she also had to face with, although they’re not her ‘things’ in life. Hae Won let out a heavy sigh before encouraging herself to keep smiling. She greeted some crews and relations who were passing along the way before she stopped right in front of a room with a small board on its door.

Ahn Kyung Soon

Rehearsal Room

She sighed again before opening the door and stepped in. Sweeping her sight around the wide room, she spotted her. There she was. Sitting on the corner sofa, reading a book with such serious expression plastered her face. Well, that face rarely smiled literally.

“Are you ready now?” she asked aloud, a little bit impatient.

The long brown haired girl raised her head from the book she read.

“What?” she asked coldly.

“Ahn Kyung Soon, don’t you wanna go home?”

“Are they still out there?” the girl named Ahn Kyung Soon asked flatly as she shot her icy glare to her cousin.

Hae Won rolled her eyes in annoyance. Kyung Soon was really trying her patience now. Well, she often do that to her. Got used to it.

“How could they wanna go home before seeing you?! Their precious I-D-O-L.” She made a funny-but-irritating face. “Listen, our car is already there, waiting for us. Go home or you stay here forever!” Her threat sounded childish. But that’s Hae Won’s way.

“I’m not going until that crowd was vanished. Tell them to go home.” She stated calmly before reading back her book.

Hae Won bit her lower lip. “Yaah! Ahn Kyung Soon!”

Kyung Soon let out annoying sigh as she closed her book and put it in her bag. “Arraso Arraso, I’m going!” She grabbed her bag then walked out the room.

Hae Won sighed as she walked out of the room. “Here.” She handed a black cap to her.

Kyung Soon raised a brow, “What for?!”

Hae Won inhaled deeply. “Ahn Kyung Soon-ssi, do you want them pulling out your hair A-G-A-I-N?” she smirked, crossing her arms.

Kyung Soon glared at Hae Won before tying her hair in a bun then put the cap on. Last time when she let her hair down, one of her fan daringly pulled on them. She didn’t know exactly whether it was her fan or an anti-fan, but of course, she wouldn’t let it happen again. Thanks to Hae Won for being a reminder for her.

“Now, happy?!”

Hae Won grinned in victory as she raised her two thumbs. Kyung Soon just rolled her eyes. How could Hae Won was older than her?!

“Okay,  come on!”

Kyung Soon sighed before she followed her. Hae Won greeted back every people who were passing them with bright smile while Kyung Soon just nodded, staying with her flat expression. Well, she was too tired to flash a smile.

“Ah, here we are…”sighed Hae Won as they both could hear the loud fanchants outside.

Kyung Soon seemed very upset as she stared at the double glass doors in front of her. Out of there was really a hell to her.

“Why don’t you all just get the rid of them!” Kyung Soon yelled angrily at her bodyguards who were already standing surrounding her. No reply came out from them. They sure have muscles and strong bodies, but when their young lady got upset, they would have their head down.

Hae Won sighed as she held her cousin’s hand. “Haish, Come on.. you ready?”

Kyung Soon just rolled her eyes as she pulled up the zipper of her jacket.

The officer bowed then opened the door, and yeah. The crowd was greeting them with their histerical noises that Kyung Soon already got used but still disliked them until now. Having so many fans was pleasing, but having such fanatic fans was really… what? Troublesome? For Kyung Soon, it’s a yes. Well, sometimes.

Hae Won held her hand tightly and dragged her out, trying to escape from the crowd while the bodyguards were trying hard to shield them from their reaches. Kyung Soon started to get annoyed by her yelling fans. All of them were trying their best to get closer to their idol which trapped Kyung Soon and Hae Won in the middle. The girls were struggling to get out from them.

Kyung Soon almost scream her anger out. It was too noisy that she really wanted to cover her ears. But instead of yelling back to them (because that’s really impossible) She fake a smile and bowed her head down, spreading gibberish “Kamsahamnida” to them while avoiding the white flash which couldn’t stop blinking to her. She was good at faking it. It looked so natural that her fans were melted by it.

“Kyung Soon-ssi! Saranghae!”

“Kyung eonni! Kyung eonni!”

“Noona, you’re so beautiful! Hwaiting Noona!”

“Kyung Soonni! Eat well, eonni!”

“We love you Kyung Soonnie! Hwaiting!”

And another and another yelling. Kyung Soon kept herself from rolling her eyes. She was actually grateful having fans like them, but still they’re too loud for her.

“Please give her way, please give her way!” one of the bodyguard yelled as he guided both Kyung Soon and Hae Won back to their way. Hae Won ran faster which made Kyung Soon almost screamed in pain. Hae Won gripped her wirst too tight.

Both finally made their way to the car that was parked right in front of them. It’s like finding a beautiful lake in the middle of  a wide desert. A butler was standing there, opening the door for them. They quickly rushed in then sat there breathlessly. They swore they almost die from suffocation.

“Yah, that.. was.. fun!” Hae Won said  in-between breaths then chuckled.

Kyung Soon rolled her eyes as she exhaled heavily. “Yah! Are you insane or what? You almost cut my wirst!” She raised her hand, showing it to Hae Won.

Hae Won formed a pout. “Oouuh ouuh, Mianhaeyo, little sist..” she rubbed her hand continously. “Still hurts?”

Kyung Soon pulled back her hand. “Stop that.”

Hae Won just smiled. “Arasso.. arasso. Ahjussi, we’re going now.”

————————————————————————————————-

“I’m hooooome!”

Han Sun Jung bursted in to her small house with her usual bright voice and smile. She let her gray hoodie down to her back, revealing her long black hair which was tied in a low ponytail. She was carrying some groceries bags with a small black bag that hung below her chest.

No one answered her. She frowned as she looked around to find a certain person.

“Eemo, are you there?” she asked while looking at the kitchen doorway.

“Sun Jung-ah, is that you?” asked a voice that came from another direction.

Sun Jung turned around to see a woman came in from the backyard of the house. She kicked off her sandals before flashing a warm smile to her.

“Ah, finally you’re home.”

Sun Jung smiled back at the woman. Her auntie must be done with the small garden behind their house. She knew how much her auntie loved gardening.

“Are you done with them, Eemo?” Sun Jung asked as she walked to the kitchen and placed the groceries bags on the counter. She opened the fridge then carefully began to place them inside, one by one.

Hyun Joo threw her dirty gloves to the nearer basin then washed her hands before helping Sun Jung with the groceries. “Yeah, they’re all blooming, you should see them. They’re really beautiful.”

“Whooa, chincha? Aah, the weather must be good then.”

“Of course, because it’s summer..”

Hyun Joo trailed off as her action involuntarily stopped. Her eyes stared blankly at the red apple in her hand. Something had bothered her.

“Eemo, what’s wrong?” asked Sun Jung cautiously when she noticed the sudden change of her expression.

Hyun Joo snapped out from her thought, “Aaah, it’s nothing… Yaah, Han Sun Jung, how could you buy all of these things?” she quickly changed the topic.

Sun Jung took her head off the fridge. “What? Oh, these?” she pointed at the fruits she had bought. There were bags of red apples, grapes, and fresh strawberries.

“Yeah these..” Hyun Joo sighed, placing her hands on both sides of her hips. ”Aigoo, you’re wasting money for this stuff!” she said in frustating way.

Sun Jung formed a cute pout at her. “Yaaa, eemo, don’t you like strawberries? I bought this for you and you don’t have to worry about the money!”

Hyun Joo was about to respon when Sun Jung quickly hug her from behind and whispered right at her ear.

“Because today…” Sun Jung paused while tightening her embrace, “I got bonus agaaain!” she exclaimed.

Hyun Joo raised her brows before laughing lightly as she punched Sun Jung’s shoulder playfully, “Aigoo, this little girl, so that’s why you bought all of these…” She sighed in relief.

Han Hyun Joo had live with her niece for years. After her little sister who was also Sun Jung’s mother died, she had to worked harder than before to suffice their life. And now her niece had already grown up and helped her by her own way. Sun Jung now worked as a photographer in a small photo studio, she also had several part-time jobs. She often came home late at night, but it didn’t matter for her. Sometimes, Hyun Joo felt it’s too much for the young girl to do such things. But in the end, it was Sun Jung who insisted.

“That old man must be love you.” Hyun Joo jested about the cafe’s owner. He really loved giving bonus to Sun Jung and kept telling her that he loved her auntie with all of his heart. Hyun Joo just laughed it off.

Sun Jung chuckled, elbowing her auntie. “Yaa, He loves you, eemo! don’t you remember? Ah, I bought roasted chickens too…” She pointed at the plastic bag she already put on the dining table. “Let’s eat them for dinner, eemo!”

Hyun Joo smiled as she patted her niece’s cheek, “Thank you, my baby girl… next time, you should put them in your saving.”

Sun Jung frowned. “Eemo, don’t be like that. We live together, you know that.”

————————————————————————————————

“Really, finally…”

Kyung Soon sighed in relief as she made her way to her bedroom. She was about changing her dress when Hae Won spoke up.

“We’ll be going again after fifteen minutes,” she said lightly as she glanced at her watch.

Kyung Soon quickly turned around with upset expression. “What?! What for?”

Hae Won pressed her lips together. “Yah, Ahn Kyung Soon, you don’t remember?! Your father will be arrive from Japan tonight!”

Hearing the news, Kyung Soon just rolled her eyes as she muttered under her breath, “Like I care…”

Hae Won sighed, “At least, you come to welcome him..”

“What for? We live in the same house, so it isn’t really important.” Kyung Soon stated calmly as she took out her pajama then threw it to the bed.

“Ahn Kyung Soon..”

Kyung Soon quickly raised her hand to stop Hae Won from letting out her usual advices. “I’m really tired now, Hae Wonnie.. just tell me about my schedule for tommorow.”

Hae Won sighed as she took out her small agenda from her white bag. “Well…” she flipped some page before she examined it carefully. “It’s not a full schedule, just two photoshoots, start from 8 AM.” She closed the book then put it back to her bag. “Okay, sleep well, I’ll go to pick him up but…”

“What?”

“Are you sure you wanna stay?” Hae Won asked with her innocent look.

Kyung Soon clutched her head, already pissed off. “Yah! Ahn Hae Won, should I tell you twice?!” she flashed her death glare.

Hae Won quickly ran out like a frightened hamster then popped her head from behind the door, flashing her goofy grin. “kekeke, arasso arasso, goodnight and sleep tight, my lovely dongsaeng!” She winked before shutting the door, leaving.

Rolling her eyes, Kyung Soon threw herself to the bed. She sighed heavily as she stared at the ceiling. It had been one month, but she wasn’t excited anymore about her father’s arrival. Well, she didn’t care anything about him anymore. Everything about him.

“Like I care.”

————————————————————————————————-

“Sun Jung-ah.” called Hyun Joo in the middle of their dinner.

“Ne?”

“Go to Seoul…”

Sun Jung sighed, suddenly lost her appetite. “Eemo..”

“I already asked Chung Ho-yah, he said he will call when he find a proper job for you.”

Sun Jung abruptly stopped munching her food, “You.. you asked Chongie?”

“Ne, is there any problem?”

“Ah, Aniyo, it’s okay.” She quickly replied and proceed to eat her meal again.

Long silence happened between the two. Sun Jung glued her eyes on her auntie, trying to pull out a conclusion. These days, Hyun Joo kept talking about ‘Seoul’ and suggested her to get a new life in there. because everything in there was better than here. But Sun Jung disagreed with her. She didn’t hate Seoul, of course. She just loved to be here, together with her beloved auntie, the only family she had now. It’s only here where she could find the happiness and peace. Not in Seoul. The only thought that bothered her was why did Hyun Joo keep telling her to get a job in Seoul? She even had contacted Chung Ho, Sun Jung’s best friend since childhood, who now was working in Seoul.

Is she a burden to her auntie?

Sun Jung couldn’t bear it anymore and finally broke the silent.

“Eemo.” she placed her chopsticks on her bowl.

“Ne?”

“Why.. why do you insist me to work in Seoul? You know that I really love to be here with you.” she paused before asking directly. “Am I a burden to you? Because if that’s true, you could just tell me, and I’ll understand.”

Hyun Joo stopped bitting her chicken then looked at Sun Jung. How could she said something like that? Of course she wasn’t a burden for her. It’s just the poor girl was kept in the dark for a long time. Hyun Joo sighed inwardly at the thought.

“It’s not like that.” Hyun Joo continued munching.

Sun Jung tilted her head in  confusion. “So?”

“Finish your meal first, it’s not good to discuss it while we are eating.”

Seoul

Brill-On Magazine Office Building

09.45 PM

The office room was still alive. Some staffs were still busy with their work for the deadline that was coming.

Ban Ki Jong was walking across the large room as his sharp eyes were searching for someone. The atmosphere in here was really different comparing to his office room. Well, the photographers weren’t up until this late.

He stopped right at the desk where a staff was sleeping peacefully on it. Even his mouth was opened. Ki Jong frowned at him. The other might be too busy to wake him up.

“Haish, at the time like this, this punk is already sleeping..” he mumbled as he raised his hand.

“Yah, Choi Chung Ho, WAKE UP!” he slapped his head with the map he was holding.

Chung Ho immadiately jolted up from his desk. “Yah! Who’s that!” He yelled bluntly as he swept his gaze at his surrounding. He then spotted a man in front of him.

“Haish, Hyung! What the hell are you doing!” he pouted angrily as he rubbed his head. But his pout was too cute so Ki Jong didn’t take it serious. He knew well his dongsaeng.

“Yah, what will you do if I was Wang bujangnim, huh? Wake up wake up wake up!”

“Haish..” Chung Ho lazily streched his arms as he yawned. “Mianhaeyo, I was so sleepy when I edited this thing!” He knocked on the computer screen in front of him. Being a graphic designer for the biggest fashion magazine in the country wasn’t always fun for him.

Ki Jong smiled and ruffled his hair. “Yah, that’s why I bring you this.” He offered a green map to him.

Chung Ho frowned as he read at the contains. “What is this?”

“Jae Jin hyungnim was suddenly drawn out from the company so we need a new fotographer to replace him. I remembered that you’re looking for a job for your friend, right? You said that your friend is a great photographer. So maybe I can only help you with this. These are the forms for the upcoming audition.”

Ki Jong knitted his brows, noticing the sleepy face suddenly turned in to the bright one. Chung Ho was fully awake now, grinning from ear to ear. He immadiately got up from his chair and hugged Ki Jong tightly which startled him.

“Yah! Yah! Choi Chung Ho! What the hell are you—!”

But Chung Ho just ignored him and shouted happily. “HYUNG! KAMSAHAMNIDAAA!”

————————————————————————————————————–

“So now, what’s the reason, eemo?” Sun Jung still had her curiousity.

Hyun Joo could only sighed before glancing around the room. She took out a magazine from a small rack by her side. Judging by its cover, it was kind of a fashion magazine. She flipped the pages one by one, searching for something.

Sun Jung knitted her brows at her auntie. Was it the time to read a magazine?

But instead of asking with silly question she went silent along the way. Until Hyun Joo stopped abruptly and showed the magazine to her.

“You know who is this, right?”

Sun Jung scanned at the model girl in the page for a moment. The girl was clad in a sexy black tight clothes with hoodie on her head. Her long beautiful bronze hair  cascaded down to her shoulders. Everyone knew it, the girl loved changing her haircolour, although she looked prettier with her natural colour, black. Her eyes shot a sharp sexy gaze that could make everyone melted.

Sun Jung kept silent for a while before nodding dumbly. Totally didn’t get the point.

“You ever told me that Chung Ae-yah and your other friends always teasing you that you and this girl are look alike, right?”

Sun Jung pulled her lips down and nodded. “Yeah, they said so… but I never felt that way.. I think she’s prettier than me.”

“No no.” Hyun Joo shook her head, “Both of you are pretty, no one is prettier.”

Sun Jung sighed. “Arasso arasso.. So, what does it mean, eemo? Please don’t keep me in the dark.” She was getting impatient now.

Hyun Joo’s eyes still glued to the model girl as she took a long breath, trying to calm herself. “Sun Jung-ah, I told you this, because this girl…”

RING RING RING

Their conversation was cut off by the loud ringing of Hyun Joo’s cellphone. Both sighed before Hyun Joo quickly went to her room to pick it up.

“Yoboseyo?”

“Yoboseyo, ahjumma! How are you?”shouted Chung Ho on the other line cheerfully.

Hyun Joo smiled as she recognized the bright voice, “Aaah, Chung Ho-ah, it’s been a while.. I’m fine, how about you?”

“I’m absolutely fine here.” Chung Ho grinned, “Ah, ahjumma.. I’m calling you now because I just got a good news!”

Hyun Joo arched her brows in confusion, “Good news? What good news?”

“I just got a proper job for Sunnie-yah! And gladly it’s in my workplace too!” he exclaimed, throwing his newspaper to the trash bin behind him.

“Chongmal?”

“Of course, why should I lie, ahjumma!”

“Ah, finally. Thanks God. Thanks a lot, Chung Ho-ah.. I really owe you.”

Chung Ho grinned. “Ah, don’t mention it, ahjumma. I’m glad I can help. By the way, is Sunnie-yah there? Can I talk to her, ahjumma?”

“Oh! of course of course.. here she is.” Hyun Joo ran from her room then handed the phone to Sun Jung as she mouthed ‘it’s Chung Ho’.

Sun Jung took it as she couldn’t hold back her grin. “Yoboseyo?”

“Jagiyaaaa, I miss you so much!” Chung Ho exclaimed without paying any attention of his surrounding. Some of them just shook their heads at his action while the others didn’t care.

Sun Jung pouted cutely, “Uuuuuh, I miss you too, Jagiiiy!”

Chung Ho chuckled while rubbing his forehead. “Aaah chincha, it’s been a while, huh?! How are you there? Eat well?”

Sun Jung grinned. “I’m pretty okay, here. how about you? Live well in Seoul?”

“Of course! Yaah, you should see my face now! I’m more handsome than before!” He replied confidently which made his friend on his side stopped typing her work and frowned at him.

“What?” Chung Ho stared at her from the corner of his eyes.

“Get lost.” She mocked, sticking her tongue out before proceeding back her work.

“Chongie-yah, what’s wrong?”

“Ah, nothing.. Yah, I just got a job that I’m pretty sure it suits you!”

Sun Jung raised a brow. It’s just a coincidence or what? They were about to discuss it, and she already got an offering. An offering to stay in Seoul.

“Chincha? What job?”

“A photographer! That suits you, doesn’t it? It’s in my workplace too! So we could hang out more!” Chung Ho exclaimed.

Sun Jung’s smile brightened as she heard the magic word ‘photographer’, but quickly dropped down when she remembered what kind of company Chung Ho worked for. Fashion Magazine. And Brill-On Magazine wasn’t like any fashion magazines out there.

“Aah… Chongie-yah, gumawoyo, but you know me. I’m just an amateur, not more.”

Chung Ho quickly shook his head in denial. “Yah, Han Sun Jung, you shouldn’t be like that! You’re experienced! You’re the best photographer I ever know! Why would I recommend you if you’re not experienced in this thing. Just try!” He tried to build her confindence.

Sun Jung pouted. “That’s not what I mean.”

“Yah, now listen to me, just think about it again, okay?” Chung Ho shielded his mouth with his hand then whispered. “You don’t have any idea how many applicants might want this job..”

“Arasso, I’ll think about it again.”

“Don’t take so long, okay? You might lose it, if you do.”

“Allright..”

“Great! I’ll be waiting! Oh, Sunnie-yah, I should finish my work now.. I’ll call you later, okay?”

“Ne. Annyooong~!”

“Annyooong~!”

Chung Ho hang up the line, then stared back at his computer screen. He grinned and raised his fist.

“Hwaiting!”

“Like I care…” –Ahn Kyung Soon.

Incheon International Airport.

Hae Won was sitting alone on the bench nearby the arrival gate. Sure she wasn’t literally alone. The bodyguards kept their eyes on her, standing around. She glanced at her watch then to the arrival board above her.

“Ah, it’s never be on-time..” she sighed as she took out her phone, updating her twitter.

“I’m @ICN, picking up my Samchun, haven’t seen him for a month. I really miss him! I know you all also do, guys! I hope Young Ho samchun didn’t forget to eat while he was in Japan. Thehee.”

“Wew, it’s too long.” She sheepishly smiled at her own tweet. It didn’t take a minute to find the replies from her followers.

“@WonnieAhn Welcome back Ahn Young Ho-ssi! I hope you’re in good condition. AHL Ent Hwaiting!”

“@WonnieAhn You’re such a nice niece to him! Ahn sajangnim must be grateful!”

“@WonnieAhn Glad to know him back to Korea.. but why Kyung Soon eonni isn’t with you, eonni? She is his only daughter after all..”

She formed a sad smile at the latest comment, she was about to reply it when the announcement of the arrival she had waited before was heard. Hae Won immadiately stood up and tiptoed to see if her uncle was already out from the plane. The arrival gate was filled with executive bussiness men. She frowned because her samchun hadn’t show up yet.

“Ah, that’s him!”

It didn’t take long to spot him. She smiled in relief as she saw her uncle there. He was talking and handshaking with some of his relations, followed by his secretary.

“Samchun!” she waved her hand until he noticed her. He smiled as he walked towards her who welcomed him with a friendly hug. The bodyguards quickly dismissed to take care of his luggages.

Hae Won then bowed to Young Ho’s secretary who was standing behind him.

“Go Joon Hwa-ssi, my pleasure to meet you again.”

The man, Go Joon Hwa, bowed respectfully to her. “My pleasure to meet you too, young lady.”

“How have you been, hm?” Young Ho ruffled her hair.

“Yaaah, Samchun! how many times I have to tell you that I’m twenty three now?” Hae Won pouted as she fixed her hair.

Young Ho chuckled. “Haish, whatever, you’re still seven years old to me. Thank you for coming.” He smiled then glanced over her shoulders. His eyes were expecting something, and it’s not hard for Hae Won to read them. She smiled faintly.

“Ah, she had just finished her rehearsal for her upcoming collaboration concert.. well, she was really tired so—”

“Gwenchana, I understood. She needs a lot of rest now. I’m really anticipating for the concert though.” Young Ho quickly replied and patted her shoulder, trying to lighten the mood with his warm smile. He knew, she wouldn’t be here from the first. He already knew and it never changed.

“By the way, is Jin On coming with you?” Young Ho asked.

Jin On was a private guard for Kyung Soon. He was chosen by Young Ho himself to watch his only daughter whenever she was out of home. Jin On was Joon Hwa’s nephew. And Young Ho knew he was a reliable person just like his uncle.

“Of course! He’s waiting in the car, so come on! You haven’t eat anything, right? Chef Gong is making a great dinner for you!” Hae Won quickly turned over the atmosphere.

“Whoa, jinja? That’s good. I’m really hungry now.” Young Ho flashed another smile as Hae Won guided him to the car.

—————————————————————————————————-

“So..that’s.. true.” she said almost like whispering.

“Gurae, that’s true.”

She shook her head in disbelief. Her eyes were suddenly filled with mixed emotions. At first, she thought that her auntie was joking. But she wasn’t.

“I can’t understand.”

It’s true. The reaction that Hyun Joo was anticipating from long before was proven now. Sun Jung didn’t believe her. Of course, She wasn’t. Sun Jung told her that she was lying. But she wasn’t.

“I know this is too sudden for you. But you need to know. You have to know.”

Sun Jung shook her head weakly. She couldn’t stare straight to her auntie now.

“I can’t believe this..”

Hyun Joo sighed.

“Sun Jung-ah..”

“Not now eemo, please. I need a rest.” She got up then went to her room.

Hyun Joo heard the door shutting behind her. She let out a heavy sigh.  Finally it was revealed now. Hyun Joo had revealed the truth. She already knew all the consequenses.

But it’s not the whole thing yet.

I leave the rest to you, Han Jin Ae.

Prolog

Han Sun Jung  and  Ahn Kyung Soon

———————————————————————————————

Summer and Winter were born in the same day, same date, same month, and same year. Minute and second were the only separation between the two.

**********

“They’re beautiful, eonni..” the woman said in awe as she looked at the two sleeping infants in the crib.

The other woman who was lying in her bed could only smile weakly. She was still tired after went through the labour several hours ago.

“Have you already had names for them?”

**********

But both were growing up in different worlds, without knowing each other.

**********

“Sunnie-yaaah, Chungie-yaaah!” a six year old boy ran through the playground toward the two girls who were sitting on the sand box, building something with sand. They turned around to see him running.

“Chongie-yah, come here! We’re building a castle!” a six year old girl named Han Sun Jung waved her mini shovel to him.

The boy, Choi Chung Ho, stopped in front of them. “Am I late?” He asked breathlessly.

“You’re late, Chongie! The castle is almost done!” the other girl, Choi Chung Ae, who was Chung Ho’s twin sister pouted.

Chung Ho rubbed his head and gave puppy eyes look to his sister. “Mianhaeyo, eomma insisted me to finish my lunch before I can play with you.”

“It’s your fault, because you are very slow at finishing meal!” Chung Ae shot her brother down which made Chung Ho blushed in embarassment.

Sun Jung giggled at the funny twins in front of her. “Yah, come on let’s play, Chungie-yah, Chongie-yah!” She gave Chung Ho a blue shovel then continued her work.

Chung Ho grinned before helping them. “Yah, Can I be the king this time?”

“No, it’s me who will be the king and Sunnie-yah will be my queen.” Chung Ae stated calmly while Sun Jung just giggled.

Chung Ho pouted. “Yaah, I wanna be a king too.. being a kidnapper is boring!”

Chung Ae stopped gathering the sand then looked at her brother. “Ok, so you are the witch now.”

“Mwo?!”

Sun Jung laughed at Chung Ho’s pathetic expression. She then grabbed a crown made by leaves beside her and put it on his head.

“Gwenchana. Chungie-yah will be the King. But Chongie-yah will be the father of the king, and I will be his wife, mother of the king!” She exclaimed, winking at Chung Ho who was smiling shyly at her.

Chung Ae formed a wicked smile at her brother’s flustered expression. “Uuh, Chongie-yah, are you blushing?!”

“N—No way!” Chung Ho denied immadiately by stomping his feet. He couldn’t help but blushed more.

Chung Ae just smirked, she really love bullying her brother although Chung Ho was older than her. Well, fifteen minutes older, literally.

“Okay. Let’s finish the castle!” Sun Jung flashed a smile.

The three kids then worked back to build their small castle. The wind blew gently as their soft laughter were heard.

**********

“I got you! Bam bam bam!” the little boy pointed his toy gun proudly, pretending to shoot his brother who was wearing a black mask and jacket, a poor thief costum.

“Aaah!” ten year old Lee Sang Kyung let himself fell to the ground, pretending to die.

Eight year old Lee Hyun Ki walked towards the dying thief in heroic style.

“Where is my princess?” he asked.

“She is here!” a girl with the same age as his, appeared from behind the couch. She was wearing a sunglasses which was too big for her small face and hugging a six year old girl. She made a stoic face like a cool mafia she was.

“You have to pay one million won to get this girl back!” She stated, trying to sound convincing.

“Prince Hyun Ki, help me please.” the poor little girl who happened to be the hostage in the game, showed her fright look.

“Don’t worry princess, I’ll save you!” Hyun Ki pointed at the mafia girl with his gun.

“Bam!”

“Akh!” The girl released the hostage first before falling down which made the scene become priceless.

“Prince Hyun Ki!” the little girl was finally free.

“Princess Kyung Soon!”

The girl ran to her prince then hugged him tight. And then, there was a long silence.

Sang Kyung got up from his lying position then spotted his older brother who was sitting on the couch, reading a comic. “Yaaah! Hyung! Read the epilog!” he protested.

Lee In Woo, the twelve year old boy, who was the oldest among them all sighed and put his comic down beside him. He then stated with his flat and bored expression. “So the princess and the prince are together again and live happily forever and after.”

“Yeaaaah!” the mafia girl immadiately got up and cheered by clapping her hands. She seemed extremely happy.

Little Kyung Soon blushed as they both drew apart. Hugging her Hyun Ki oppa somewhat made a funny feeling within her stomach.

“Kids! Come on take a break. Let’s have lunch!” A man entered the room as he clapped his hands to get the attention from the kids.

“Appa!” the mafia girl named Ahn Hae Won, ran to her father as he sat on the floor to catch her.

“Aigoo!” Ahn Young Jae almost fell back because of his daughter’s attack. “Yah, my little girl sure gained weight now.” He kissed her puffy cheek.

Hae Won giggled and wrapped her tiny hands around his neck. “What’s for lunch, appa?”

Young Jae made a funny face. “Hmm, it’s secret for now. Come on, mom’s waiting. Guys, come on! Kyung Soon-ah come here, sweeety!”

Kyung Soon giggled and ran to her uncle. He then lifted her along with Hae Won as the girls giggled. It was another weekend and Kyung Soon was visiting her uncle’s family while waiting for her parents to come home from their busy activities.

“Samchun, are eomma and appa already here?”

“Your appa and eomma will be here in five minutes. Don’t worry, they won’t be late for lunch with us.” Young Jae smiled as all of them walked to the dinning room for lunch.

Everybody loves Summer…

**********

“Saengil Chukhahamnida.. saengil chukhahamnida.. Saranghaneun Han Sun Jung… Saengil Chukhahamnida!”

Han Jin Ae offered the small round of chocolate cake to her daughter. Our now nine year old Sun Jung stared at the nine candles in front of her in awe.

“Make a wish, sweety.”

Sun Jung closed her eyes to make a wish before opening them again then blew the candles off. Everyone there clapped and kissed her. There were only her mother, aunt, uncle,  and the twins Chung Ho and Chung Ae. It was just a small celebration from the family to their beloved Sun Jung.

“Yaaa, Sun Jung-ah, come on tell samchun what your wish is…” Hwang Jung So, who was her auntie’s lover, asked as he pointed the camcorder to her.

Sun Jung placed her index finger on her lips hesitantly. “It’s forbidden, Samchun. If I tell you, my wish would never become true.”

The adults laughed at the little girl’s innocence statement while Chung Ho and Chung Ae nodded in agreement.

Jin Ae moved closer to her daughter and embraced her, planting a kiss on her cheek. “It’s okay, just tell your samchun, Sun Jung-ah.” She said as she looked at the camera.

Sun Jung chewed her lips in doubt before answering confidently, “I wanna be a forever good girl for eomma!”

**********

And Everybody loves Winter…

**********

“Saengil Chukhahamnida.. Saengil Chukhahamnida.. Saranghaneun Ahn Kyung Soon… Saengil Chukhahamnida!”

“Blow the candle! Blow the candle!” Hae Won yelled happily.

“Make a wish, princess.” Mi Young whispered as she hugged her daughter from behind.

Kyung Soon stared awkwardly at all the strangers who were holding cameras and standing in front of her. They kept taking snapshot of herself and the rest of her family who were presenting this huge birthday celebration. No matter how many times she faced them. She still felt awkward with so many white flashes flashing over her.

“It’s okay, sweety. Make a wish then blow the candles.” Ahn Young Ho encouraged his daughter as he kissed her cheek.

Kyung Soon then closed her eyes before opening them then blew the nine candles. Everybody in the ballroom clapped and congratulated her.

“Chukhae Kyung Soon-ah!”

“Saranghae!”

“Congratulations! Wish you all the best!”

Some reporters moved closer to her, asking her the same question as they tried to make friendly conversation between them and the little girl.

“Kyung Soon-ah, what is your wish for your birthday today?”

Kyung Soon looked at her smiling parents then grinned from ear to ear before answering. “I wanna be in the middle of eomma and appa like this forever!”

**********

Both have tons of love in their life

**********

But Summer and Winter have different ways to face the way of life.

**********

Sixteen year old Han Sun Jung was washing her face on the sink. She then took a small towel beside her to wipe her face before glancing at her reflection in the mirror. She tied her black hair in ponytail before sighing and pouted.

“Aah, today is another exam. I don’t know If I could make it again..” She made a desperate look before shaking her head. “Aaah no no no! I have to fight it no matter what!”

Sun Jung blew out steam on the mirror then write her name on it. She made a fist with her right hand then raised it, making a confident face as she looked at her name.

“Han Sun Jung.. Hwaiting!”

**********

Sixteen year old Ahn Kyung Soon placed her brush back to its place then stared at her reflection in the mirror of her vanity desk. She already finished making up. It’s just simple but chic make up with her long black hair descending upon her shoulders. She stared at herself with such determination in her eyes as she whispered to herself.

“You’re unbeatable Ahn Kyung Soon.. You’ll pass this casting smoothly. You have to believe.”

**********

Because they’re Summer and Winter.
